Duhok 2-Day Highlights
A compact two-day introduction to Duhok that covers the city itself and its most accessible surroundings: the reservoir and Zawa Mountain on day one, then a half-day at Lalish Temple followed by the old bazaar in the afternoon. Ideal for visitors with limited time or a short stopover.
Day 1
City & Lake- Morning
- Start at the reservoir: walk the north shore, hire a pedal boat if conditions allow. Return to city for lunch at the old bazaar.
- Afternoon
- After lunch, drive up to Zawa Mountain for panoramic city views — best in late afternoon light. Return to town for dinner on Nawroz Street.
Day 2
Lalish & Bazaar- Morning
- Leave for Lalish by 8:30 am to arrive before the late-morning crowds. Allow 2 hours at the temple complex — bring modest clothing and remove shoes at every shrine entrance. Return to Duhok for lunch.
- Afternoon
- Spend the afternoon in the old bazaar: copper workshops, spice stalls, and a kebab lunch if you skipped it earlier. Nawroz Street in the evening for dinner and people-watching.
